There are multiple reasons why the words ‘high heel’ and ‘elegant’ are often used in the same sentence from the aesthetics through to the emotion they can provoke, for both the onlooker and wearer.
For some they are the epitome of femininity, sexiness and class. For others, they are the physical representation for confidence and empowerment – the last weapon in the female arsenal. But for me, the elegance of a high heel comes down to its shape, or the ‘feather line’.
When taught how to draw a high heel shoe, the very first line you put down on the paper is the feather line, which is essentially the sweeping arch from toe to heel. The angle determines the pitch and in turn the height. The steeper the angle, the higher the heel, the more elegant the shoe.
I’m not a fan of platforms, wedges or block heels (sorry if you are!) but they just don’t have that elegant feather line which creates that beautiful angle. The heel is also an important part for me. There are many different shapes of heels from block to stiletto and everything in between, and again the pinpoint accuracy of a stiletto heel does something inside of me which makes me weak at the knees. I’m not the only one right?
Lucy Rose Ltd shoes have been designed with elegance as a core pillar, essential to the outcome. Although different and technically advanced, the detail inside and out ensure that the word that comes to mind when you first feast your eyes of a pair of Lucy Rose Ltd shoes, is elegance.
Until next time,
