A day in the life of Rebecca O'Hara

Rebecca O’Hara is Lucy Rose’s ideal customer. She’s a 29 year-old solicitor and lives in Wimbledon. It’s 7am and Rebecca is getting up and ready for work. She showers, washes and styles her hair, puts her makeup on and goes to the kitchen of her two-bed flat to make breakfast. She likes to live a healthy lifestyle and chooses porridge with berries and nuts on the top and a cup of Earl Grey tea.

She’s going to see clients today and knows that she will be in and out of the office and travelling around central London throughout the day. She has therefore opted to wear a smart but comfortable L.K Bennett navy fitted dress and her trusty navy Jimmy Choo’s. She is planning on taking her Midi Marylebone tote handbag to put her court shoes in whilst she does her commute. She doesn’t have time to waste today, anything to make getting around town a bit easier. As she’s putting them into the bag (with a slight moan and grumble because they don’t fit nicely along with all her paperwork and lunch) she realises shoes as expensive as this shouldn’t really be stuffed into a bag with the potential to get damaged. But what other option does she have? She’s tried the commute in her heels, and has nearly fallen over coming down the steps onto the platform and consequently missed her train due to her slow pace of walking. Plus, taking a break in being in heels all day is very much welcomed.

It’s now 7:50am, she says goodbye to her boyfriend and heads off to Wimbledon train station. She gets the train to Vauxhall and the tube from Vauxhall to Green Park still in her flats. On the walk to her office, she grabs a take away coffee from Caffe Concerto and walks down Old Bond Street past D&G, Gucci, Valentino, Tiffany and Louis Vuitton. As she arrives at her offices, she quickly changes her shoes, hopping on one foot trying not to spill her coffee as she puts her heels on. Bag weighing her down with everything that’s in it, she gets fairly flustered as a colleague walks past and quips “the things women have to do”. Rebecca rolls her eyes but smiles politely knowing that she will be doing this multiple times throughout the day, and as she brings both feet back to the ground, she sorts her hair out and takes a deep breath. She calmly walks in, and as she hears the heels strike the stone floor one step at a time, it seems to take away the stress of the journey and makes her feel empowered, elegant and ready for the day ahead. She lifts her head a little higher, sips her coffee and opens her office door.

This is an everyday occurrence for Rebecca, but what if she didn’t have all that trouble with shoes? What if she didn’t need to have two pairs everyday, even on those days she’s rushing about town to client meetings? Comfortable, elegant and practical footwear is what Lucy Rose is aiming to achieve, so that Rebecca can focus on what she does best – helping clients in a crisis, not being in one herself.
